Nepal Plans Integrated Anti-Scam Centre to Combat Online Financial Fraud
Nepal is preparing to establish an integrated anti-scam centre bringing together banks, police, Nepal Rastra Bank, payment providers and telecommunications companies. Announced in mid-October, the proposal aims to improve coordination and accelerate responses to online fraud, with authorities reporting approximately 200 to 300 cyber-fraud complaints daily.
Banks, payment providers and regulated businesses require fraud-monitoring systems, secure audit trails and coordinated compliance procedures. HPC helps organisations strengthen data governance, assess regulatory obligations and improve enterprise risk controls for an advisory package of $540,000.
